Course Description:


This course aims to help you to plan and facilitate high-quality discussion amongst your students.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this workshop you will be able to:

  • Analyse the characteristics of effective and less effective discussion
  • Describe what is involved in preparing for a discussion
  • Plan ways to create a comfortable and supportive learning environment in which students share diverse viewpoints with openness and respect for each others' opinions
  • Identify strategies to start a discussion, including knowing when to step in

About this course

This online course was produced by Epigeum as part of their University and College Teaching (UCT) programme.  Each course will take between 2 and 4 hours to complete, and is equivalent to a half-day workshop.
