Course Description:

The premise of the workshop is to introduce storytelling as a tool for creative teaching and learning. In particular the half-day focuses on the use of stories to make 'difficult to learn'subjects more accessible. The workshop is hands on, practical and fun.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Create stories, and use them to engage students in the learning process;

  • Use creative techniques to deliver 'difficult' concepts in new and exciting ways;

  • Communicate more effectively with learners.

 About the Tutor

Alison Davies is an experienced trainer and creative practitioner. An author of thirteen books on a range of subjects and a professional storyteller, Alison delivers workshops for both the public and private sector throughout the UK.She has been involved in a number of ground-breaking projects using narratives,in particular working with the law school at Leicester University and delivering seminars using storytelling and presentation techniques as part of legal ethics seminars. She also writes for a selection of magazines, newspapers and educational journals. Her goal is to encourage a creative approach in all aspects of teaching and learning.
