Using UK Biobank in the identification of liver disease - Dr Hamish Innes
Duration0.1 days
This event is for Academics and PGR Students only
The UK Biobank (UKB) is a powerful and innovative resource for health research. It characterises half a million middle-aged people in the UK in terms of their host genetics, standard biochemistry tests, health risk behaviours and subsequent health outcomes. It offers tremendous and unique opportunities for liver disease research. In this seminar, I will give an overview of the work I have been involved in using UKB data to study late diagnosis/early identification of chronic liver disease. In doing so, I hope to illustrate the breadth and power of the UKB data, but also provide practical information about how to access and utilise this fantastic resource.
Speaker: Dr Hamish Innes, Glasgow Caledonian University
