This is an online course via Teams.

How to use the UoN HPC is for researchers who want to use the University's High Performance Computing facility, Augusta. It is intended for new users, and covers the basics of how to access the system, and start to use it.

Learning Outcomes:

Understand the various components of the Augusta HPC system

Understand how to use secure shell (SSH) to login to a 'login node'.

Understand how to transfer files between user's PC and Augusta HPC.

Understand the login environment and how to configure environment variables.

Understand how to find out about the available compute resources.

Understand the computer resources available to be requested by a batch job.

Understand how to write a job submission script.

Understand how to submit a job to the batch queuing system.

Understand how to monitor a job.

Understand where to find reliable sources of further information.
