This course includes:

  • a review of the legislation and the anatomy and physiology of the back
  • identifying conditions causing back pain/principles of safe lifting including specific lifting techniques in particular work environments
  • the benefits of good posture and problem prevention
  • the role of Occupational Health in the assessment of muscle-skeletal problems

Who should attend: 
All those involved in lifting and handling & those supervising manual handling operations.

This course is aimed at employees of the University but it is open to postgraduate students if space permits. Priority will be given to members of staff.
