No prior experience of Microsoft Project is necessary since this is a "beginner to intermediate" course in the use of the software. 

There is an optional preceding half-day short course ‘Practical Project Management’ for delegates who wish to understand key elements of Project Management away from the keyboard.  Delegates of this course are encouraged to attend that course first. 


Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Use the key elements and capabilities of Microsoft Project at beginner to intermediate level

  • Create and edit key project management views such as GANTT charts

  • Work with Tasks, Sub-Tasks, Sub-Projects

  • Manage Critical Paths analysis and work with Calendar and other Project views

  • Understand and utilise resource control elements of Microsoft Project

Process:

This is an introduction to Microsoft Project and will take you to an intermediate level in the software during the half-day course.  Trainer input with individual work, participants are encouraged to use their own projects as a basis for individual work.

This course is a hands-on computer-based course using the software package Microsoft Project.

 

Who Should Attend:

Managers and staff who lead projects of any size at the University and wish to gain hands-on experience of Microsoft Project.
