Being fair: How to manage staff issues and behaviour – including conflict, challenging behaviours, underperformance and applying equal opportunities policies. (Staff only)
Who should attend: THIS SESSION IS FOR STAFF ONLY AND IS NOT OPEN TO POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS
The workshop is for anyone who manages people and wants to do so fairly and with consistency – you could, for example be leading a research team, managing an administrative team and line managing staff.
Learning outcomes:
This is a session for leaders and line managers which covers a full range of issues including
1. Types of problem people and motivations for their behaviours.
2. A leadership model for dealing with problem people.
3. Managing difficult situation s where conflict or bullying are involved, including when to confront staff
4. Having difficult conversations around performance.
5. Applying equal opportunities (including flexible working and sick leave) policies fairly.
Delivery
Tutor input from a range of experts, including a Senior Employment Relations Advisor and an HR Advisor, and discussion/case study work.
Pre-Requisites
Please bring your own lunch or be prepared to buy lunch on campus.
