Target Audience

University academic or administrative staff wanting a basic introduction to or refresher on the EndNote bibliographic management software.

Prerequisites

A computer username and password for the University network.

You can also watch the 25 minute video, EndNote on Windows: The Short Course. However, if you would prefer, come to the room shown in your joining instructions half an hour before the start of the course, where the video will be shown.

You may find it useful to print off the workbook that will be used during the course

Aims

This course is designed to help you create bibliographies using EndNote desktop version X7. 

Objectives

By the end of the course you should be able to:

- Create a databases of references from a variety of sources

- Import references from key databases

- Organise your references effectively

- Use EndNote with Word to create a reference list in a specific referencing style

- Make an informed choice of software

There will be a “hands-on” opportunity to practice.

Process

This is a two-hour course consisting of presentation, demonstrations and practical hands-on exercises.
