Teaching staff wishing to develop the strength and resonance of their speaking voice.
Please note: This session will be active and breathing exercises will be used. Please wear comfortable clothing and contact us if you have any medical concerns about the breathing exercises or mobility limitations.
Course Description:
A participatory course developed from vocal techniques practiced by actors. This course will enable you to discover your true voice, work on exercises to enhance its range, clarity, power and tone colour; allowing you to deliver an engaging presentation with ease. The aim of this course is to introduce you to the opportunities of improved vocal projection and the benefits that this brings. We will work as a group on various physical and vocal exercises in a relaxed atmosphere. So be prepared to relax, kick off your shoes and maybe even lie on the floor.
Course Tutor:
Stewart Theobald trained and worked as a professional actor before becoming a teacher, trainer and voice coach. Having taught at all levels from primary to higher education and former Head of Voice at East 15 Acting School, Stewart is now running workshops and coaching in Presentation Skills, Voice Projection and Speech Clarity for over 20 Universities.
