Late stage postgraduate research students
Early career researchers
ProcessThis course is a participative small group workshop delivered over one full day.
DescriptionThis one day workshop (0930 to 1630 hours) is for people who are considering a career as an academic researcher before possibly moving into a research and teaching career. The course is built around a series of short talks, small group discussions and practical exercises to guide you in your choices and what you need to put in place if you are to ‘make it’ as an academic researcher. The course CANNOT be tailored to individual careers advice because participants will come from a variety of very different backgrounds and disciplines. BUT by taking part in the various tasks by the end of it you should be in a position to realistically appraise your own position and how this will affect your choice of future career.
