Course description:

Digital Research in the Arts and Humanities is a series of lectures and workshops on digital research methodologies, run jointly with the University of Leicester.

Students will learn the principles of text encoding—a powerful and flexible means of marking up texts to allow many sorts of research and re-use, and that forms the basis of many digital editions. By the end of the workshop participants will understand the ways in which markup can be used to structure different kinds of data, have analysed sample data and designed a markup scheme, and have an understanding of the workflows involved in creating and validating markup.

Transit to Leicester for the full day’s schedule and lunch will be provided at no cost.

This seminar takes place at the University of Leicester

No technical skill required; all those with an interest are encouraged to attend!
