Aims

 

The aim of this workshop is to provide guidance on how to find, use and attribute educational resources and images published under a creative commons licence.

 

Objectives

 

The workshop will enable you to:

 

·         Find and use educational resources and images available under creative commons licensing

·         Enhance your teaching materials by correctly attributing creative commons resources and images

·         Experience the process of creating and publishing Open Educational Resources

·         Investigate the benefits and barriers to publishing Open Educational Resources

·         Explore the different creative commons licenses available for use by higher education instructions

·         Use Xerte On-Line Toolkits to create on-line learning resources

Background

 

From April 2009 – April 2010 the University was involved in the JISC/HEA funded UK Open Educational Resources (OER) programme. 


          
      Process

A number of OER repositories and image sites will be demonstrated.  This will focus on where to find items that have been licensed under creative commons and are therefore available for inclusion in your teaching materials.
