Course Description:

This workshop will explore the core teaching skills needed to teach effectively in Higher Education in the UK. You will be involved in group work and discussion with peers and have the opportunity to practice some of the key skills needed in teaching.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this session participants should be able to:

  • Identify the core teaching skills in different contexts
  • Review the roles and responsibilities of a teacher in Higher Education
  • Practice the skills of explaining
  • Practice the skills of giving constructive feedback

This course will be run by a Professional Development (Learning and Teaching) colleague.

Who should attend?

Those who are new to teaching and wish to explore core teaching skills in UK Higher Education.

(Please note - This course is not suitable for experienced teachers.)
