Course Description:


You will learn about the key principles of learning design, get to know your audience and plan for diverse learners and plan for accessibility. You will scaffold the design process and plan for preparing for the blended environment/align technology with teaching methods.

Learning Outcomes:

After completing this course you should be able to:

  • Discuss the importance of fully embedding learning technology in course design
  • Explain the value of course planning and discuss the broad principles of learning design
  • Understand a framework that synthesises different learning theories and discuss how technology can help to support different forms of learning
  • Report the benefits of a business model to education
  • Describe the diversity of experiences learners bring to each course
  • State the value of defining clear learning intentions and recognise the importance of different types of learning outcomes
  • Discuss the advantages of several pedagogical planning tools and evaluate the pros and cons of alternative learning designs
  • Demonstrate a commitment to developing constructively aligned courses that strive to find the appropriate blend of pedagogy and technology for your students
